“Hi, my name is Dr. Sanjay Sharma and welcome to this website that I created to help my retinal patients better understand their eye conditions. I am an ophthalmologist or eye surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retina diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetes eye conditions and vein occlusions.
We operate a full service retina clinic in the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston Ontario. My colleagues and I also work part-time at clinics in Belleville, Brockville, Perth/Smiths Falls, and Port Hope; where we offer you the convenience of receiving your eye injections at the location closest to you.”

Patients
We welcome new patients and we look forward to helping you manage your eye condition. Because Dr. Sharma is a specialist, for your first visit you will need a referral from your doctor to Dr. Sharma’s retina clinic in the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston.
Once you have been assessed at Dr. Sharma’s Kingston clinic, if your treatment requires you to receive intravitreal injections and follow up, you can get those injections at whichever of our five locations is most convenient to you (Kingston, Brockville, Belleville, Perth/Smiths Falls, Port Hope).
All of the referral information is on our referral sheet, you can download it here. You can print this out and give it to your eye doctor (optometrist, family doctor or ophthalmologist).
About Dr. Sharma
Dr. Sanjay Sharma is an ophthalmologist and retina specialist. He is also a professor of Ophthalmology and Epidemiology at Queen’s University and the author of over 200 articles in peer-reviewed literature. Dr. Sharma is an internationally recognized expert in macular disease and has received over $1 million in grants to study retinal diseases over the past 10 years.
